~ The Occult ~
Revision 1
The Occult
You may well have heard the word "occult" on the news or on religious radio stations. The occult has an ominous stigma attached to it, which is not only due to ignorance and fear, but is also totally unnecessary, and needs therefore to be cleared up.
The word "occult" simply means, "hidden". Anything not yet clearly known, since it is obscured for whatever reason (usually by the mind), is therefore of the occult - of the "hidden". The occult is feared because man fears anything hidden, unknown, or not yet understood. It is inherent to man's nature to fear anything he cannot understand, because it is a part of Himself (God) that he cannot [yet] relate to.
Before electricity was understood it would have been found to be of the occult. Now that it is understood to a sufficient degree, its new place is found in what we term "science". Magick is simply science not yet understood. It is for this reason that [true] magick and "the occult" go hand-in-hand.
Cults
Cults are institutions that offer something exclusive to their members. All the mainstream religions are thus cults. They therefore have no right to frown upon each other or on any of the other smaller cults.
Paganism
Paganism is one of the earliest belief systems. It can be termed the "spirituality of the earth", or what is commonly known as the "Earth Religion". This belief system has it that the earth has its own Spirit - representative of all life upon it. So everything on the earth is of the earth itself, inter-connected, with nothing more important than another.
Wicca
Witchcraft originally sprung from Paganism where the understanding of the relationship between all things of the earth was taken a step further into the realm of manipulating energy. This science was of course called magick. Since it was originally spelt "Magick" (with a "k") in Old English, purists and many practitioners of the science today prefer to use the original spelling. This spelling also serves to distinguish [real] magick (energy manipulation) from magic tricks, which are mere illusions constructed within the normal operating physical world.
Witches
Witches are preoccupied with the science of producing various manifestations arising out of manipulating (organizing) energy. Wicca has it that God is both Male (God) and Female (Goddess). Witches can be either male or female.

The
Pentagram
|
![]() |
| The pentagram is a five-pointed star, often enclosed in a circle. The bottom four points represent the four elements - earth, air, fire and water, whilst the topmost, ether (or spirit). |
To summon spirits (aliens), that represent either themselves or the forces of nature, a pentagram is usually used. It signifies the four basic elements of earth, air, fire and water; and ether or spirit. The pentagon in the center is through which the spirits are channeled, and the circle signifies a predefined limit to which the summoned spirit can enter the world. This limit is of course stipulated as a condition when the spirit is first summoned.
The circle also represents a circle of spiritual protection for the wearer. In fact, many witches use the pentagram only for protection and nothing else.
Satanism
Satanism has nothing at all to do with "the devil"! A Satanist is consumed only with the desire to indulge in whatever fancied. For example, if someone indulges in a hobby, the indulgence itself is the practice of Satanism – nothing more, nothing less.
Down-to-earth satanists see Satanism as the indulgence in the desires of the personality, whilst the more spiritual Satanist sees Satan as the essence of individuality. So for this kind of person, Satan is the soul - i.e. Consciousness, Self or God. This is why true Satanists know Satan to be but God. Satan, for them represents who they really are at the end of the day. For such a person, attainment to Self would be the predominant Satanic activity. The down-to-earth satanists view Satan to be the dark (unknown) force of/behind nature.
Buddhists strive to drop Ego/Self/God/Soul whilst Satanists strive to hold onto It.
"Devil Worshipers"
This group of individuals is often confused by most to be Satanists. Satanists are not "devil worshipers". They don't even believe in the devil. They believe only in Themselves.
So-called "devil worshipers" are people that are anti-good and pro-evil. They are anti everything considered by most to be "good" and "pure", and pro everything considered to be "evil" and "unbecoming". Their belief system is a religious, psychological belief system, for they base it on the opinions and views of others, instead of on their own. Their religious symbols are even inversions of some mainstream faiths. They take, for example, the witches' pentagram and invert it, or the Christian cross* and invert that.
* The Christian cross should anyway not be in the shape of a cross, but rather in the shape of a "T" because in the rare event of someone's actually being nailed to a cross beam, the person was first nailed to the beam whilst on the ground and then pulled up the upright post with ropes until the crossbeam rested on top, where it was then secured in place. Most crucifixions however occurred on trees.
"Devil worshipers" believe in a concept called "the devil" simply because it has been made up by some of the mainstream religions to represent evil and to be the source of evil.
"Devil worshipers" also perform psychological exercises at summoning so-called "forces of darkness". Those that are actually entering the spirit world and manipulating the energies there will quickly realize that there is, in absolute terms, no such thing as evil. Neither is there such a thing as "bad" energy. It’s how the energy is used that is subjectively regarded in this world by one to be either good or evil. Most of the dark forces summoned are merely mischievous ominous alien beings which, down through the ages, have been called devils or demons.
"Devil worshipers" also go about sacrificing in order to obtain greater psychological powers, drinking blood, going into trances, speaking in tongues, and so on. They need some kind of mental trigger to get their minds into the state of believing that they really are "evil" and in communion with "the devil". They, like all religious fanatics, are mad (since what is in their minds is not found in the real world).
